Beginning on September 24, 2023, Armenia Airways, a different airline from Armenia, will start flying often from Yerevan to Sochi. They will take off from Sochi International Airport. These flights to Sochi will happen two times a week, on Tuesdays and Sundays. They will use Boeing 737-300 planes that can carry up to 148 passengers.
The plane will land at Sochi Airport at 5:40 AM and leave for Yerevan at 7:00 AM on Tuesdays. On Sundays, it will reach Sochi at 5:40 PM and depart for Yerevan at 7:00 PM.
“The arrival of another international airline in the Russian market underscores the strong interest in Sochi as a key transit point in southern Russia, along with the consistently strong demand for travel between Russia and Armenia. The introduction of flights by a new Armenian airline affirms the steady flow of passengers on the Sochi-Yerevan route, including during the less busy seasons and upcoming winter period,” commented Alexander Nikonov, Director of Aviation Business at Aerodynamika Group.
