SKY Express has inaugurated its direct flight service between Athens and Yerevan, marking a significant expansion of air connectivity between Greece and Armenia. The inaugural flight landed at Zvartnots International Airport to a warm welcome from airport authorities and Greek Ambassador to Armenia Christos Sofianopoulos.
The new route features modern Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft operating thrice-weekly services, with departures scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. This strategic scheduling allows for convenient travel options between the two capitals.
Armenia International Airports CJSC General Manager Sergey Avetisyan warmly embraced the new service, expressing optimism about future cooperation and the potential for route expansion. The sentiment was echoed by SKY Express Chief Commercial Officer Gerasimos Skaltsas, who highlighted growing passenger demand and the route’s role in strengthening bilateral ties.
