Pegasus Airlines wants to launch Yerevan-Istanbul flights

Turkish Pegasus Airlines has applied to the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia for issuing a license to operate Istanbul-Yerevan-Istanbul flights. Sona Harutyunyan, the spokeswoman for the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, told TASS agency on Tuesday.

“Pegasus has applied for conducting two weekly flights starting from February,” Harutyunyan said, adding that the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia has begun reviewing these applications and will make a respective decision within a reasonable time, News.am writes about this.

Pegasus Airlines is a Turkish low-cost carrier headquartered in the Kurtköy area of Pendik, Istanbul with bases at several Turkish airports.

The last flights from Turkish cities to Armenia were in 2015 when flights were operated from Yerevan to Istanbul and Antalya.
